A lot of states have changed their laws on concealed carry, with some exceptions, in recent years.
But that hasn’t stopped many of the laws that still allow it from being passed in the face of mounting public opposition.
The Washington Post reports that the National Rifle Association is calling for “a major rewrite of the federal gun laws” in an effort to “keep our communities safe and protect the rights of law-abiding Americans.”
The NRA has long advocated for a new “Stand Your Ground” law that would make it easier for people to shoot someone they think is threatening them.
The NRA recently called for the “Stand your ground” bill to be passed and sent a letter to members of Congress urging them to do so.
